The times they are a changin'

On the eve of possibly one of the most important elections in my lifetime, I feel like things are changing around me at an alarming pace. Not that this is a bad thing - but I am (I freely admit) a person who has a hard time with change. My favorite website has made a major change that I am trying very hard to like, but I'm finding it difficult. My husband found out today that they will be laying off 7-10 people at his office (out of about 60 or so employees), I've been put onto a new project at work that I don't really care for (and also having to work with someone that makes me crazy) and add to that other smaller things around me in flux and this makes me feel a little left of center.

A friend of mine sent me these Green Day lyrics to help make sense of some of this:

"This is a public service anouncement, this is only a test
Emergency evacuation process
May Impair your ability to operate machinery
Can't quite tell just what it means to me

My heart is beating from me
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
The world is spinning
Around and around
Out of control again
It's comedy and tragedy

I am standing all alone
Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time
To my own beat now
The only way I know

Nobody likes you...
Everyone left you...
They're all out without you...
Having fun..."
